WARM UP: Stick Mobility series
Looking for a bit of variety to add to your court warm up? Try out this nice and quick mobility series using a dowel (broomstick).
This 3 minute series covers dynamic hip and spine mobility, single leg stability and hip control. Hopefully your single leg control is better than mine!
Perform 5 – 8 reps of each of the exercises, with a few extra thoracic rotation thrown in for good measure.
Thoracic Rotation
Overhead Press
Overhead Squat
Arabesque with rotation
Lunge
Lunge with rotation
This mobility series should be performed alongside a broader warm up that includes running preparation, deceleration, change in direction and some landing practice.
